Website Project!

Step 1: Find 6 website links that you find inspiring
-http://www.stitchesonline.com/store.cfm?&ckey=CA&lang=eng
-http://shop.avon.ca/avonshop_en/default.asp?rep_phone=&rep_email=&newdept=&s=EN_GGL_BR&c=iProspect&otc=avon.EXACT&department=AVON35
-http://www.allthingschristmas.com/
-http://mymerrychristmas.com/

Step 2:
The website that I would like to make will be simple and easy to use. I don't enjoy the complicated websites that are impossible to use. Since it is close to Christmas my site will have a holiday theme. It will be a site where you can design and personalise your own Christmas ornaments. In my house we have always had the traditions since we were little to make ornaments to put on our tree. As we get older though it is hard to put new ornaments on the tree that are meaningful and unique. So on this site you will be able to design beautiful personalised ornaments for your family.

Step 3: 3 rough sketches of the page layout

Step 4: In Photoshop and/or Illustrator, design the page layout (960px X 750px at 72DPI)

Constructivist Poster Project

Before making my poster I had to consider many things.  What would I want my poster to do? I wanted it to make people more aware of something. What that something was going to be though I haved no idea. Then I had to figure things out like where would I want people to be seeing the poster that I create? As I want my poster to make people aware I believe it would be a poster to been see in public places like metros and stores. I want my poster to be somewhat like Shepard's obey or Obama hope poster, in that I want it to have a picture on top with a word on the bottom that has a very clear meaning. Unlike the writing Shepard uses on his poster I want to make the writing like the writing used on the Bauhause exhibition poster or the want it poster. I feel that this writing would give off a more constructivist feel for the poster. However I want to do all this but still make my poster my own and not just all ideas of other people. I need to make it original.

Inspiration:

After thinking through many ideas I have come up with a few ideas for my poster. Since we are creating this poser around the same time as Remembrance Day I thought I would try and do something with that. Especially since the connection with war and Remembrance Day works well with the making of a constructivist poster.

Thumbnail sketches of my poster ideas:

After creating my sketch I decided it should say "Remember" insted of "Lest we forget" because just like the Obey and Hope poster it was one clear word.

MY LOGO!

MY LOGO IN THE MAKING

When I found out that we were going to have to create a logo that represents our interests, I wasn't exactly sure what I was going to do.  After a little thinking I came up with the idea of creating a logo that involved something I love to do, which is swimming. I decided to creat a logo for a swim wear and accessories store that would be called Presleigh.

Here are some of the ideas that I came up with:

I put all of my favorit parts together to create this logo, however I like simple logos and I found this one too complicated and just had to may aspects. So I decieded to pick my favourit part and make a simpler logo:

I LOVE LOGOS!

These are just a few of the logos that I enjoy. They are all very unique and special in their own way. My favorite would have to be the Walt Disney one because it reminds me of my child hood and has a way of making you happy and bringing back good memories just by looking at it. I love the way that the D in Disney is made up of a wand. I like the rest of these logos because they are simple and get the point across at a first glance. These are logos you can see all the time in your everyday life yet you never really think about them. They may look simple but someone put a lot of thought and effort into making them perfect.

THE ALPHABET

Kayy

The letter I received for the alphabet project was the letter K. At first I thought I would be quite hard to find. Then when I started looking for the letter K in my environment and I ended up finding a lot more of them than I thought. I found it on many street signs, on chocolate bars, candy, and soup. My favourite however was the letter K found on the box of special K cereal. I eat cereal every morning so I thought it kind worked well. I also really like the shape of the K.
